Display at WW1 Week-End at Burseldon Industrial Museum 23/9/18

Area 4 members Ken Winter, David McNair-Taylor, Alan Hall and Dave and Andrea Reith attended the Burseldon Industrial Museum on a very rainy and wet Sunday 23 September and set up a display of their warship models, using as many as possible relating to the WW1 /WW2 period . Models included One Battleship, 4 Cruisers,4 Destroyers a Sloop and Armed Trawler .

Dave Reith had on show his latest work in progress being a WW2 Japanese Destroyer and in addition we also had John Hawley’s  part finished WW1 destroyer.

The day started off very quiet due to heavy rain keeping visitors away, however the rain cleared by lunchtime and we had a reasonable number of visitors to the stand during the afternoon.

It was unfortunate that Geoff young and John Hawley were unable to attend due to illness so the number of models was less than our normal number.

The organisers sent us the following note of thanks :-

Many thanks for bringing the Surface Warship Association display to the WW1 Event at the Brickworks Museum on Sunday.    It was a pity the weather was so horrible but we had a 5 star review on Trip Advisor about it all and quite a few people who had not been to the Brickworks Museum before came to the event.
Thank you for supporting us and please tell John I hope he recovers well.

Best Wishes,
Pam.

We look forward to our next visit to the Museum .
