Netley Marsh Steam & Craft Fair Display 26th to 28th July 2019

This was the fourth Year Area 4 Members were invited to put a display on at the three day Netley Marsh Steam and Craft Fair. This year the Event organizers combined the Craft Tent and the Model Tent into one large marquee. The Model section of the marquee incorporated other local model makers and the Solent Meccano Club.

Our display consisted of 18 warships from the Royal Navy, German (Type VIIC Submarine) and I.J.N Navy covering the period from WW1 to the present day.

With the success of the fairground vehicles we showed last year. The organizers requested us to provide this display of fairground vehicles once more. This section of our display, again attracted a lot of interest. These models were supplied by Ken Winter.

David McNair –Taylor also displayed some Naval aircraft models.

We set-up the display on Thursday, however it was so hot we had to limited our time in the marquee, but we manage to completed the set-up within a couple hours.

With the weather being so good over the three days our stand was very busy with a large number of visitors. We received many compliments on the standard of models and the professional look of our stand. We also had lots of interest in the making of the models and the history of the ships.

At the end of a very busy event with such good weather came the payback ! Having to spend Monday cleaning the dust off the models ready for the next show.

Members attending were, Ken Winter, Charles Davis, David McNair-Taylor, Andrea Reith and Myself.
